Why schools move

Registers in one book. Fees in another.
Results in a spreadsheet.

Sample image

When a school's information lives in exercise books, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups, the Director only sees the full picture at the end of term, and parents hear about problems late. MONSO Edu records the day's work in one place as it happens, so decisions are made on what is true today.

  • Register in an exercise book
  • Fees in a spreadsheet
  • Results in Excel
  • Notices in WhatsApp groups
One record

Less paperwork. More teaching.

The product

One system for
the whole school day.

Each part works on its own and together: a mark entered by a teacher appears on the report card, the parent's phone and the Director's dashboard.

  • 01

    Admissions and records

Enquiries from your school's own web page, admission numbers, classes, guardians and the documents each pupil needs.

  • 02

    Registers and conduct

Teachers mark the register on a phone. Parents can be told about an absence the same morning. Conduct is rated each term.

  • 03

    Results and term reports

Marks entry by subject, grades with remarks, the Director's approval before results are released, and printable report cards.

  • 04

    Fees and accounts

Fee structures per term, invoices parents can download, numbered receipts, reversals with a reason, and cash-basis statements.

  • 05

    Staff, attendance and payroll

Check-in at a school kiosk with fingerprint or PIN, leave requests, teaching records, and payslips with Kenyan statutory deductions.

  • 06

    Timetables and homework

Periods and class timetables with clash warnings, PDF copies for the notice board, and homework parents can see.

  • 07

A parent app on every phone

Attendance, marks, reports, fees, homework and messages for each child. Installs from the browser; no app store needed.

  • 08

    Messages you control

Notices arrive in the app for free. Your school chooses which ones also go by SMS, WhatsApp, email or Telegram.

  • 09

    The Director's briefing

Ask questions about the whole school in plain language and get totals and trends back. It never names a pupil or a member of staff.

Built around roles

Fees, receipts, payroll and the accounts, all reconciled in one place.

Who it's for

Built around how schools
in East Africa actually run.

Private primary and secondary schools

Your own terms, classes, subjects, timetable and fee structures, set up for how your school runs.

Islamic schools and madrassahs

Qur'an and Hifdh tracking, oral and written assessment for subjects that need both, and formative skills on the term report. Switched on per school.

Growing schools

Separate roles for the Director, Deputy, teachers, finance and the front desk, so responsibilities stay clear as the school grows.

Pupil records

Refused
How it works: the database checks every request against the signed-in person's school, so a request for another school's records returns nothing.

Separate by design

Every record carries its school, and the database itself refuses to show one school's records to another. Automated tests check this.

Roles decide what people see

Finance does not see marks it has no need for; a teacher sees their own classes; a parent sees only their own children.

Care with children's information

A public Excellence Board stays off until the Director switches it on, and the Director's briefing never names a pupil.

No surprise messaging bills

In-app notices are free. Only absences go out by SMS or WhatsApp by default, and the school decides what else does.

Questions

What schools
ask us first.

Do parents need to download an app?+

No app store is needed. Parents open the school's link on their phone and can add it to the home screen. It works on any smartphone with a browser.

We are not an Islamic school. Is it for us?+

Yes. The Qur'an and Hifdh features are switched on only for schools that use them. Everything else is for every school.

Can we bring our existing records?+

Yes. We give you a spreadsheet template for pupils, guardians and staff, check it with you, and bring it in before you go live.

What does it cost?+

Pricing depends on the size of the school and the modules you use. We will give you a clear quote after a walkthrough.

Can other schools see our information?+

No. Each school's records are kept separate in the database, and access is limited by role inside your own school too.

What would you like
your school to do better?

Fees that are hard to follow up. Results that take weeks. Parents who hear too late. Tell us where your school is today and we will show you MONSO Edu with that in mind.

Your details go to the MONSO team only, to arrange the walkthrough. We do not add you to a mailing list.
